Sport Science Lab (SSL) is a world leader in the field of rehabilitation and performance training to improve athleticism. The Sport Science Lab headquarters is a $50 million state of the art athletic complex situated in California. Recently PVM partnered with SSL and opened the first Sport Science Lab in Pretoria, South Africa.
Whether its rehabilitation, improving sport performance or general fitness, Sport Science Lab has the tools to fulfill the needs of every person that walks through our doors.
THE SPORT SCIENCE LAB DIFFERENCE
What differentiates SSL from any other facility is that we address all the specific rehabilitation and conditioning needs.
SSL focus on agility, coordination, flexibility, balance, power, reaction time, speed, strength (All stregnth variables within a Force-Time curve), correct biomechanics and endurance.
Considering the limitations currently available, traditional training equipment poses, SSL have developed unique equipment which allows us to both train and rehabilitate athletes at biomechanically safe and functionally appropriate angles, which more closely resemble general and sport specific movement patterns.
Empirical evidence has concluded that biomechanical dysfunction i.e. poor technique is a major risk factor for both acute (e.g. non-contact ACL rupture while changing direction) and overuse (e.g. degenerative shoulder labral tear due to poor throwing mechanics) injuries. Therefore, for rehabilitation strategies to be truly effective in prevention of recurring or new related injuries, faulty biomechanics has to be addressed during all phases of rehabilitation.
Leaders in the field of rehabilitation and performance training.
